Review by hotel critic
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Park Lane Apartments/Shaw House last Monday, and I felt compelled to share my thoughts, especially as a travel consultant accustomed to the finer aspects of luxury stays. My experience was intriguing, blending elements of both value and comfort. First, I must commend Jermain for his outstanding hospitality; his demeanor makes one feel welcome from the get-go. The accommodation itself was a beautiful surprise—instead of the one-bedroom apartment I booked, I was pleasantly upgraded to a spacious three-bedroom unit, all at the same price. This kind of value is incredibly rare in London, where space is often at a premium. The apartment was clean, modern, and offered essential amenities like a kitchen with basic appliances and coffee-making facilities. The proximity to attractions like Oxford and Hyde Park is another feather in its cap, allowing easy exploration of the city. Not everything was perfect. There were issues with housekeeping and maintenance, such as a few worn furnishings and a feeling of disrepair in certain areas. The lack of air conditioning was a downside during warmer days. In summary, Park Lane Apartments offers solid value for travelers seeking space and convenience—just keep your expectations in check regarding potential upkeep. When I return to London, this place will be on my list, but I’ll be aware of its quirks.
